800 Years - 2017 a Year of Celebrations

Our 2017 Year of celebrations for our 800th anniversary!

 

 

Saturday 8th of July 1pm to 5pm. Our big summer fete in Itter Park. Games, stalls, food!

Friday 15th to Sunday 17th of September (10am to 5pm). Our baptism/ christening weekend. Baptism gowns down the ages; traditional baptism gifts; exhibitions, displays and the church’s baptism registers from 1644 on display to trace your family history. A special renewal of baptism promises giving God thanks for your baptism on Sunday the 17th at 10am.

 

Friday 29th of September to Sunday 1st of October (10am to 5pm). Our big Harvest weekend. Wonderful floral arrangements, Harvest payer stations and celebratory worship and Harvest lunch on the Sunday!

 

On Sunday 1st of October we have our Harvest Family Service with Bishop John preaching.

 

Saturday 14th of October at 7pm is our Quiz night in the Church Hall. Open to anyone to come and test their knowledge.

 

Friday 27th to Sunday 29th of October (10am to 5pm). Our Funeral and Conflict weekend! Tracing conflict and wars through the 800 years and focusing on the war dead from our parish. Exhibitions and displays, and the church’s burial registers from 1644 on display to trace your family history!

 

Saturday 4th of November at 10am a very special All Soul’s service for all who have died and to whom this church has ministered too over the years.

 

Saturday 25th of November from 10am to 12noon – our big Christmas bazaar: stalls, games, and refreshments.

 

Saturday 2nd of December from 9am to 6pm the church open all day for you to offer your special prayers and light a candle.

800 Acts of Kindness. Throughout 2017 the church will be pledging to undertaken 800 different acts of kindness around the community – each act representing one year of the life of the church.

 

Memorabilia: There will be a range of special memorabilia on sale throughout 2017 all featuring a photograph of the church and text.
